Some of my favourite Calgary photo locations are the ones I discover unexpectedly — often while out on a run with no camera in hand. Both Evamy Ridge and Riverdale Avenue Footbridge are places I stumbled across naturally, and they quickly became two of my favourite spots for romantic, candid engagement photos in Calgary, especially in the fall.

These photos were taken in October, just as the leaves were beginning to change colour, adding soft autumn tones to the already beautiful scenery. One of the reasons I love Evamy Ridge is the varied elevation throughout the area. The gentle rises and dips create natural layers in the background, making photos feel dynamic without ever feeling posed.

The second location for this engagement session was Riverdale Avenue Footbridge, a tucked-away spot I nearly missed during one of my runs. Just off the side of the footbridge is a quiet corner with access down to the Elbow River — a location I immediately saved on Google Maps after seeing its romantic potential for couples photos.
